Stainless steel 316, 316L dialysis needles refer to hemodialysis-specific puncture needles made of 316L austenitic stainless steel.

 

This material is chosen mainly because of its excellent corrosion resistance (especially chloride corrosion resistance), good biocompatibility and sufficient mechanical strength, which can meet the stringent requirements of long-term contact with blood, repeated disinfection and puncture of blood vessels.

Establishing extracorporeal blood circulation access: The dialysis needle is a key device that connects the patient's vascular access with the extracorporeal circulation pipeline of the dialysis machine.

 

Arterial needle: It is used to draw the patient's blood from the vascular access (such as arteriovenous fistula or artificial blood vessel) and transport it to the dialyzer.

 

Venous needle: It is used to return the blood purified by the dialyzer to the patient's vascular access.

 

High-frequency puncture requirements: Patients need to undergo long-term and repeated punctures, and have extremely high requirements for needle sharpness, minimal tissue damage, biocompatibility, and corrosion resistance (withstanding repeated disinfection and sterilization). The characteristics of 316L stainless steel perfectly meet these requirements.

 

Plasma exchange/immunoadsorption: These treatments also require blood to be drawn out of the body for processing (separation of plasma or adsorption of specific substances) and then returned. When using arteriovenous fistula as a pathway, a dialysis needle (or a puncture needle of similar design) is required to establish extracorporeal circulation.

 

Hemoperfusion: It is mainly used for poisoning rescue. Sometimes it is also necessary to establish extracorporeal circulation through a fistula and other pathways, using a dialysis needle.

 

Dialysis needles are strictly single-use medical devices! Although 316L stainless steel has excellent corrosion resistance and can theoretically withstand high temperature and high pressure sterilization, reuse is absolutely prohibited.
